The General Assembly of year 2009 was held in Amboise on April 18, as part of the "Les châteaux du Roy" meeting.
Saturday, April 18
We had an appointment at the Touraine aquarium in the town of Lussault-sur-Loire for 2 PM. As the site has a picnic area, several participants chose to have lunch on site. The aquarium has species of all sizes and horizons. The aquarium has more than 40 tanks. During our visit, we were able to see the sharks feeding through a glass tunnel. Nor can we imagine the fish that can be found in the Loire such as catfish or sturgeon.
The afternoon continued at the park of mini castles in Amboise. 45 castles of the Loire Valley are reproduced here on a scale of 1:30 in a 2 hectare park.
The general assembly was held in the evening. A review of the past year was presented (activity and financial reports, publications). A dinner full of surprises closed the evening in a good mood.
Sunday, April 19
The day was entirely devoted to visiting the castle of Chenonceaux. For the first time, we opened the day to all avantime owners. 7 crews joined us! Built in the 16th century on the Cher river, Chenonceau is "the castle of the ladies", notably Catherine de Médicis. In addition to its architecture and its location on the Cher river, it is also famous for its Renaissance furniture, remarkable tapestries and paintings.
After walking through the gardens, we continued the day with a lunch at the Orangery located in the castle park.
The 120 people present and the 57 Avantime gathered on Sunday showed us the vitality and passion that our interspace generates!
